Dance music can be a funny place. Despite its inclusive roots, wannabe gatekeepers abound. You know the type: pseudo know-it-alls who’ll shame you for not owning a rare 12" pressed on fairy dust sourced from the Moon. Dekmantel champions the opposite: an open-minded platform for all things electronic spanning festivals, a record label, an editorial site, clothing, and brand collaborations. My work with Dek began through Vinyl Factory on site and Instagram, the latter of which I ran as we grew to 400K+ followers. This encompassed backstage and behind-the-booth socials, alongside editorial content, playlists, and streams. Since 2019, Dekmantel has brought me on to write and edit long-form interviews and artist profiles directly for them. Chatting with inimitable creative forces like SHERELLE and Kléo was a particular joy.
