Dance music can be a funny place. Despite its inclusive roots, wannabe gatekeepers abound. Think: the kinds of pseudo know-it-alls who try to shame you for not owning a rare 12" pressed on fairy dust sourced from the Moon.
Dekmantel—a platform for all things electronic, and its close cousins—champions an open-minded approach. It encompasses festivals, a record label, an editorial site, clothing, and brand collaborations.
My work with Dekmantel began via coverage on behalf of The Vinyl Factory, with all-access backstage and behind-the-booth socials, alongside accompanying editorial, playlists, and streams.
Since 2019, I have written and edited long-form interviews and artist profiles for Dek’s site.
Chatting with inimitable creative forces SHERELLE and Kléo was a particular joy.
Responsibilities included: editorial, content strategy, copywriting, programming, playlisting, streams, and social content.
